Former Sunderland captain Michael Gray has likened Paolo di Canio to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.

Gray is tipping the controversial Italian to be a big hit at Sunderland.

"I can see him being just like Mourinho when he went dancing down the touchline a few years ago, after Porto beat Manchester United in the Champions League," Gray told the Daily Star.

"He's someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and I'm sure over the few weeks he'll be kicking every ball and showing every conceivable emotion."
