Ex-Sunderland boss Reid: Stoke in playing limbo

Former Sunderland boss Peter Reid feels Stoke City have been caught out this season trying to change the style of their play.

Reid had a stint at Stoke working with manager Tony Pulis.

And he told Absolute Radio: "I mean it's always difficult to look at it but I think what you got from Stoke from the previous couple of seasons you go the same style of play where they got the ball in there, they work to their strengths which we all agree they were very good at.

"And I think Tony's just tried to change it wee bit you know with the likes of Adam coming in...and Walters and just tried to tweak it to play a little bit more football. I just think they're caught in between."

Reid was talking to Ian Wright of Absolute Radio Rock n' Roll Football. Every Saturday from 5pm on 1215AM. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football.
