Former Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio has commented on banning tomato sauce during his time in charge.
The 45-year-old claims his standards were too high for the players to live with.
He said: "I banned ketchup and mayonnaise because the players have too much of it and it's not healthy. It's not professional in a top club in one of the top leagues in the world.
"I saw people put ketchup in their pockets trying to smuggle it in! It was crazy. I think I was too good, my level was too high and the sacking has made me stronger. My level was too high for this situation.
"I had players who told me they had cramps from driving the car. The fitness levels were pathetic. I had three players with calf injuries after 20 minutes of a game. Six different players with problems means they weren't fit."
