Malcolm Crosby believes Sunderland striker Darren Bent should be at the World Cup with England.
Former Sunderland boss Crosby believes Fabio Capello would have been better equipped with Bent at his disposal.
"I would have taken Darren - he'll get you a goal," Crosby told the Evening Chronicle.
"Although I like Emile Heskey for the other things he gives you, as a player he's not going to score you goals like Darren Bent can.
"In tournament football you need someone to score goals regularly if you want to be successful and go far. England haven't done that so far, they've scored two in three games.
"Look at the respective goal records. Emile doesn't score enough but Darren's record, for being in a team outside the top four, is phenomenal. It speaks for itself."
