Ex-Sunderland and Man City star Reyna appointed USA's youth director

Former USA national team captain Claudio Reyna has been appointed US Soccer's new Youth Technical Director. The 36-year old, who ended his illustrious career in 2008 with the New York Red Bulls, played with Bayer Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg in Germany, Rangers in Scotland and Sunderland and Manchester City in England before returning to his homeland in 2007 with the Red Bulls.

Reyna will be officially unveiled by US Soccer chief Sunil Gulati on Wednesday April 7 and he is sure to bring plenty of nous and experience to the young, aspiring USA players.
