Former Stoke City winger Matthew Etherington has questioned the sale of Robert Huth.

Huth has signed permanently with Leicester City.

Etherington told The Sentinel: "Huthy has been fantastic for Stoke City.

"Would I rather keep Huthy or Wollscheid? I would rather keep Huthy.

"He's been a magnificent servant to Stoke in their early Premier League years and we all saw what a fantastic partnership he had with Ryan Shawcross. Now he's been out on loan to Leicester he's had the chance to show he can still cut it in the Premier League. Stoke fans liked him because they knew what he was all about. He was a Premier League defender – a great one."
