Aberdeen are believed to be showing considerable interest in Rio Ave striker Esmael Goncalves according to SunSport.
The 21-year old Portuguese had a successful loan spell with St Mirren last season and is now being linked with the Dons who are hoping to clinch him on another short-term stint.
Goncalves, who has also been linked with Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Rangers, admits he would love to return to the UK.
"I enjoyed my time at St Mirren and it would be fantastic to go back to Britain and play with a club at a good level," he said.
