Ex-Spurs boss Venables: Ferguson producing another Man Utd Golden Generation

Former Tottenham boss Terry Venables believes Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is producing another Golden Generation.

He wrote in The Sun: "You couldn't help but be impressed watching United against Tottenham on Monday night.

"The pace and quality of their passing and movement was wonderful and the way they created and converted their chances was top-drawer.

"It looked a lot like the red and blue shirts of Barca.

"And who was at the forefront? Rooney, Young, Welbeck, Jones, Smalling and Cleverley.

"And who better to keep bringing them through and improving them than Sir Alex?

"He's done it before with the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers.

"Now he's doing it all over again.

"OK it's a bit too soon to start talking about them as the new Golden Generation just yet.

"But they are certainly capable and they're at the right club, with the right manager to now ally their promise with some top flight experience."
