Former Tottenham boss Terry Venables says Arsenal must send an SOS to former chief executive David Dein. El Tel wrote in The Sun: " He was the man responsible for bringing Arsene Wenger to North London in 1996.
"And in the next 11 years the pair went on to work closely together to bring unparalleled success and signings to the club.
"They won the Double twice and went through the entire 2003-04 Premier League campaign unbeaten.
"Together they never put the club in any financial danger. But likewise they realised that sometimes you have to pay a bit extra if you want the best players.
"And they certainly brought in some of the best - players like Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmars, Thierry Henry, Davor Suker, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell, Gilberto, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure, Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie.
"They are players of the quality Arsenal would love to have now."
