Redknapp says Sherwood will insist on final say on transfers.
“It’s going to be interesting to see how he works with a sporting director but I know he will stand up for himself,” he told talkSPORT. “If he doesn’t want a player then that’s where the problems may begin, if he’s forced to have someone he doesn’t want.
“They’ve made a great decision to give him the job though. He’s shown last week that he will make his own decisions, he’s his own man.
“He doesn’t suffer fools gladly and he won’t have players that he doesn’t want.”
