Ex-Spurs boss Redknapp: Kane and Alli must be ahead of Janssen

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp isn't convinced about Victor Janssen.

Talk surrounding Harry Kane's link up with new signing Janssen has dominated the early season agenda at White Hart Lane and both strikers started Tottenham's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Dele Alli, meanwhile, dropped to the bench due to illness before being introduced as a substitute and immediately added impetus to the Spurs attack.

"I see him [Kane] playing up front," Redknapp told Talksport.

"I don't know why Dele Alli didn't play but, for me, they're the partnership. They're two fantastic young players.

"He [Pochettino] gave it a little change and went with the two and played Harry in behind to see how it worked.

"But most of the season I think we'll see Harry playing up as a number nine with Dele Alli playing as a 10."
