Barnet player-coach Edgar Davids has revealed a halftime blast inspired striker Daniel Lopez to net a hat-trick in their League Two win over Morecambe.

Former Tottenham and Barcelona star Davids was delighted with his side's turnaround, in particular his Spanish hat-trick hero.

"This game has set a benchmark for us of how far we have grown up to now," he said.

"I was pleased with Dani Lopez in the second half, but not in the first. He came too deep in midfield, he caused more trouble than helped and the link-ups were not tidy.

"There were words exchanged at half-time, but you see with Lopez he can just pull a rabbit out of the hat all of a sudden."
