Philadelphia Union have confirmed the signing of Argentine winger Cristian Maidana.
The 26-year old has joined the Union as a Designated Player from Chilean club Rangers de Talca after spending most of last season in his homeland with Argentinos Juniors.
"I was able to see Cristian play several times and I came away extremely impressed with his technical skills, creativity and one vs. one ability," Union manager John Hackworth said in a statement.
"After having met him personally, I felt even more confident that he was the type of person and player who can benefit our club on and off the field."
Previously, Maidana has spent time with CA Banfield, Russian side Spartak Moscow and Mexican club Atlante.
