Former Spain U21 coach Alberto Celades has questioned the pre-World Cup sacking of new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui.
Celades pointed to the fact that Luis Aragones also accepted a new job at Euro 2008.
"Many players come to a World Cup or a European Championship with offers from other teams," he said in an interview with the 'El Transistor' programme.
"Luis Aragones also changed teams during Euro 2008.
"That's my opinion on the Lopetegui issue."
Going on to discuss the sacking and how he found out about the decision, Celades explained that it was a sad time,
"(RFEF president) Luis Rubiales did not talk to me about Lopetegui, it was a sad and very strange situation," he said.
"It then became a difficult atmosphere, but those of us who were there tried to do the best for Spain."
