James Beattie has been appointed manager of League Two club Accrington Stanley according to Sky Sports.
The 35-year old former Southampton, Everton, Stoke City and Sheffield United striker joined Stanley in November in a player-coach role but has now been installed as manager following the departure of Leam Richardson in late April.
It is believed that Beattie will be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday but it is yet unknown if he will continue on as a player at the Crown Ground.
