Former Southampton boss Graeme Souness slammed Cedric Soares after defeat to Chelsea last night.
Chelsea won 4-2 thanks to goals from Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and a Diego Costa brace.
But it was Soares' role in the first goal which angered Souness.
The right-back played Costa onside, before the Spaniard crossed to find Eden Hazard who smashed home the fifth minute opener.
"Soares has gone back and played him onside," Souness said on Sky Sports. "You see (Maya) Yoshida has put his arm up wanting offside.
"Soares for me is guilty there because he's run back too early, too much.
"Yoshida's on his way back, he knows that Costa is offside if Soares had not gone so deep."
