Ex-Southampton boss Adkins favoured to take Huddersfield reins

Nigel Adkins is being installed as the bookies favourite to replace Simon Grayson at Huddersfield Town.

Adkins was sacked by Southampton last week and could be the man to fill the vacancy at the Terriers after Grayson was relieved of his duties today following a 12-game winless streak.

Joining Adkins on the betting shortlist for the Huddersfield job includes ex-Bolton boss Owen Coyle, former Middlesbrough gaffer Gareth Southgate, Nottingham Forest's Billy Davies and Bradford City's Phil Parkinson.
