Jermaine Jones could feature for the first time in 2015 this weekend according to New England Revolution head coach Jay Heaps.
The 33-year old USA international has not yet played for the Revs this term after undergoing surgery on a sports hernia during the off-season but could get some valuable minutes in Saturday's clash with Columbus Crew at the Gillette Stadium.
"With Jermaine, we're going to see how this week goes," Heaps said.
"We'll see how the next couple of days go in terms of how many minutes, if he's in the squad. It's important just to see these next couple of days."
Heaps added: "I think he had an excellent week last week leading up to the game [against Colorado].
"[He] was close to being fit, but not quite there."
The Revs currently sit third on the Eastern Conference table with two wins and a draw from their opening five fixtures.
