Former AS Roma striker Marco Borriello knows there's a lot of surprise with his move to UD Ibiza.

However, the Italian insists there's a serious "project" being laid out for the Segunda B minnows.

Borriello told Gazzetta dello Sport: "There was a lot of irony about my choice, but I do not care because I think that to judge before you must know in depth the link that exists between this land and me.

"I love football and I still live it with seriousness and professionalism, but here I also have the mission to move forward, it is the way to give back to this island part of what it has given me.

"For the people, Ibiza means nightclubs, fun, easy women. Much banality. My challenge is to bring Ibiza to the top, to the LaLiga."
