Former Roma fullback Vincent Candela is weighing up his future after coming off contract at relegated Messina.

Candela has reportedly already turned down advances from Reggina, Torino and Red Star Belgrade and is currently on holiday near Rome.

"I still have a passion for football, but we will have to wait until the end of August to know what comes next," he told L'Equipe.

"I'm looking for an interesting challenge at a club where I can enjoy myself.

"I have great affection for Italy, but if that offer comes from abroad I may accept."
