Ex-ref Foy: Spurs and Son can have no pen complaints

Former Premier League ref Chris Foy insists Tottenham have no legitimate complaints after a late penalty appeal was denied in defeat to Liverpool.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Foy stated: "Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is adamant that Sadio Mane's last-minute challenge on Son Heung-min was a penalty but I don't blame referee Michael Oliver for not awarding it.

"I had to look at the incident three times, then finally in slow motion to see if there had been contact.

"Well, if it takes that many viewings to come to a decision, then you can absolutely understand why Michael didn't give it and he had been superbly positioned.

"Michael had an outstanding game at Wembley and gets no criticism from me."
