Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam believes that Philippe Coutinho could leave the Reds in January and he adds that it could be a good thing as it could allow the club to rebuild their defence.
Coutinho is one of the best players in the Liverpool squad however their defence has been shaky and selling him could provide them with the cash that they need to purchase a few World class defenders.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Adam said: "This is what happens when you've got one of the best players in the world,"
"It's going to just see how long the Liverpool owners stay strong – can they afford to not let him go in the January window?
"I think if they're nowhere near winning the league, he will go."The money they're talking about - £120million – that's a rebuilding job!"That will buy them the four defenders and a goalkeeper they probably need."
