Former Real Madrid fullback Cicinho has delivered a stunning interview with ESPN.

Now playing in Turkey with Sivasspor, the former Real and Roma fullback has confessed to alcoholism.

"I'm a guy who cannot have one or two glasses, I have to drink to collapse," he stated. "I had an encounter with Jesus after taking 18 14/3 caipirinhas and beer."

He added: "They said if I continued like this I was going to die."

Cicinho, who famously visited Old Trafford and discussed terms with Manchester United before signing for Real, also took aim at Brazil's current national team.

"Today they're only concerned about selfies, dammit! The hair and all that stuff. The style is fine but the national team of Brazil needs more attitude. Today I see players who ask not to play in the Copa America - that cannot be!"
