Ex-Real Madrid president Calderon: Mourinho blames everyone but himself

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has taken aim at Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Calderon believes Mourinho always blames his players and not himself when things don't work.

He told The Sun: “Unfortunately when he reacts it is always somebody else who is to blame.

“I read that when they lost last week he talked about the referee.

“That is his character and you have to take him how he is when you appoint him as manager.

“In all the clubs, he has done the same. I don't know if it motivates the players or not but now he is not here and he is not our problem now. But it is how he is."

Calderon continued: “When he was in Spain he blamed the federation, the press, anyone.

“It is true, sometimes he blamed the players when he was in Madrid.

“He did that with Karim Benzema and said he wasn't as focused as he should be. It is like that and I don't think he will change. I think he should change, as for everyone it would be good.

“But at a certain age it is not easy to change. And he has done so many good things in his career. “He has won titles in different countries and won the Champions League.

“It is difficult to do these things — but he has his character too."
