Ex-Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Carrallo joins little Corby Town

Former Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Carrallo is moving to England - to non-league football.

Carrallo is set for a move to England - with seventh tier Corby Town.

The 21-year-old midfielder spent three seasons with the Spanish giants after joining in 2012 and played under Zinedine Zidane in the Real Madrid B side.

He played with the senior Real team during their 2014 pre-season tour of the USA under Carlo Ancelotti and reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea during that period.

However, after a spell representing Breidablick in Iceland last season, he has moved to British shores and will play for Corby - who play in the Evo-Stik Premier Division - against Newcastle and Leeds in friendlies this weekend.

Corby Town manager Tommy Wright said: “Sergio is a player with huge talent and a fantastic pedigree.

“He will be in our squad this weekend for the Steel Park Cup matches against both Newcastle on Saturday and Leeds on Sunday.

“Moving to England would be a big change for him, however we are a very ambitious club.

“I hope that he settles in quickly and we can announce an agreement in the near future.

“I am looking forward to seeing him in the new Corby Town shirt this weekend, he will certainly excite our fans with his technique and skill."
