Ex-Real Madrid keeper Reguero keen to make up for unused Hampden chance

Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Antonio Reguero is hoping to make up for a missed opportunity at Hampden Park.

The 30-year old was part of the extended Real Madrid squad which took out the 2002 Champions League final at the Glasgow headquarters back in 2002 and this year is hoping to atone for missing out when Caley meet Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish League Cup semi-final this weekend.

"I was not there when Madrid won the Champions League at Hampden in 2002, I had to watch on TV back home," he said.

"At the time I was playing for Real Madrid C and only the B team travelled with the first-team to Glasgow. It was a real pity.

"I missed a great occasion at Hampden so it is strange to have the chance to go there. Hopefully I can make up for it now."
