Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has taken aim at Barcelona.

Valdano was unimpressed by their draw with Real Betis.

"Barcelona were very mediocre against Betis," he said. "Especially away from home - they seemed far from the excellence of seasons past."

As for Luis Enrique's response to the controversy, Valdano was impressed with how he handled the situation.

"Luis Enrique was impeccable during his post-match press conference," the Argentine wished to point out. "He could have complained about the refereeing but instead focused on his own team's bad play.

"That's what Barcelona and their fans need to do."
