Former Reading boss Brendan Rodgers has put his hand up for the Portsmouth job.
Ex-Chelsea coach Rodgers is the first to publicly declare his interest in the Fratton Park hot-seat.
He told The News: "I am flattered to be linked with Portsmouth.
"Any manager without a club at the moment would love to be involved with something like that. It's a fantastic club with great supporters and I am sure it will rise again.
"From my perspective, I would love the challenge of taking over. Speaking to Avram (Grant), he would always tell me how the fans would always back their manager.
"I've taken six months out, been around a few clubs and am now hungry to get back into a club which has ambition."
