Gregg Wylde has signed an 18-month contract with Scottish club St Mirren.
The 22-year old former Rangers winger has had his three-year deal with Aberdeen terminated in order to play regular first team football with the Buddies.
"We can announce that Gregg Wylde has had his contract cancelled by the club. The club wishes Gregg all the best for his future career," read an Aberdeen statement.
In addition, the former Celtic youth and Bolton man told the Daily Record: "I knew I had to move to play more football.
"It wasn't about money because I would have earned more if I'd stayed at Aberdeen.
"It was difficult to get into the Aberdeen team and I am delighted that St Mirren have given me this chance to not only play football but also to move back home as well.
"I am only 22 and this is my fifth club.
"I haven't played a lot of games in recent seasons and now I have signed for St Mirren I hope I have now found a club where I can settle down and play football regularly again."
