Ex-Rangers star Moore fined for Dubai fracas

Former Rangers, Newcastle United and Brisbane Roar defender Craig Moore has only been hit with a fine for his drunken fracas in Dubai.

The 34-year old ex-Australian international appeared in court on the weekend after being arrested last week for an altercation with a taxi driver and then police in Dubai.

The Gulf News says that Moore was fined 1000 dirham ($AUD287) for his involvement in the incident after pleading guilty.

"Dubai Misdemeanors Court presiding judge Abdullah Khulaif Abu Zaid fined the Australian footballer Moore, who pleaded guilty when he appeared in court," the report read.

Moore had been arrested for alcohol consumption, which is illegal in Dubai, aggression and insult of a functionary and refusing to pay a taxi fare.
