Former Rangers fullback Maurice Ross is delighted with his move to Motherwell.
Ross has never been afraid to venture overseas and played in Norway and Turkey before signing for Beijing Guoan last year.
However, after being frozen out by team-mates who were treated like prisoners by the club, he's delighted to be home.
Ross, 30, said: "I have enjoyed playing abroad but coming back has reminded me of just how different that is.
"Scottish clubs are really accommodating to foreigners when they come over here - we take them for lunch and help them but that wasn't my experience abroad, especially in China.
"It's been a closed society for so long they're not used to having foreigners in their country, never mind working with them. It's not their fault - they're used to being restricted.
"There was no atmosphere in the dressing room at all. All the Chinese players lived in the stadium. They were forced to stay there because they go mental when they are let out.
"They've been brought up not being allowed to do anything. I read an interview with Jackie Chan and he said that if you give Chinese people options then it's going to be a bomb scare.
"It was like that. We'd a day out once and two of them were off for four days afterwards.
"One of them was bitten by a dog and the other had his head split open so that was the end of that.
"There were factions in the team because the foreign players were allowed to live elsewhere. It was tough.
"Then I come to Motherwell and within 20 minutes Steve Jones has given me a nickname, which is exactly what I've missed."
