Walter Smith is excited for Everton over the impact of striker Nikica Jelavic.

Smith worked with Jelavic at Rangers.

The former Gers and Everton manager told evertonfc.com: "When he came to Rangers, he showed real quality. He is a perfect finisher at times and if you give him opportunities then he will get you goals.

"I think Everton certainly did that when he first arrived. If Nikica was looking for a team in England to go to then Everton was the perfect choice."
