Ex-Rangers ace Naismith not quite ready says Everton boss

Everton manager David Moyes made it clear that Steven Naismith is not quite ready for action after his latest knee injury.

The 25-year old Scottish striker left Rangers this summer to join the Toffees but could only watch on as his new club beat Dundee United 1-0 in a pre-season friendly last night.

Moyes says that Naismith's knee is not strong enough for him to be thrown into a match of such little magnitude whilst also touching on his transfer status at the moment with Rangers having some legal objections to his move to Goodison Park.

"Stevie hasn't been ratified by the authorities yet but his knee's not quite ready for him to play yet, so that gives us time to get him ready," Moyes said.

"People have to remember he hasn't played for nine months, so we can't throw him right in at a new club."
