Kris Boyd has quit Turkish club Eskisehirspor and will now take legal action against them.
The 28-year old former Kilmarnock and Rangers star striker joined the Turks in July but had little joy at the Ataturk Stadium and has now departed after the club failed to pay him some wages.
Boyds agent, Mark Donaghy, confirmed: "Kris has triggered a release clause in his contract. His contract has been terminated because of late payments and a legal process is now under way.
"He will now head back to the UK."
Boyd, who made just two league appearances for the Star of Anatolia, has also lodged a complaint with FIFA regarding his situation.
