Former QPR boss Jim Magilton is keen on the Colchester United job.
The Daily Star says Magilton has applied to be boss of League One Colchester after John Ward was sacked on Monday.
The former Liverpool and Southampton midfielder has been working in Ireland and Australia over the past year.
