Toronto FC head coach Paul Mariner was delighted after seeing his side record just their second MLS victory of the season on Wednesday night.

The ex-Arsenal and England striker took the reins from Aron Winter recently and has had an immediate effect on the Reds as they managed to defeat Canadian rivals Montreal Impact 3-0 at Saputo Stadium.

The goals came courtesy of Torsten Frings, Ryan Johnson and Danny Koevermans and the performance was certainly not lost on a jubilant Mariners.

"Ryan Johnson and Danny Koevermans are unbelievable for us," Mariner said.

"I see Danny playing left back and Ryan clearing balls in the six-yard box. It's a spectacular performance for us."

Toronto remain bottom of the overall MLS table but they are now three matches unbeaten and have recorded more points in four games under Mariner than they did in the previous 10 with Winter at the helm.
