Former PSV Eindhoven coach Fred Rutten is backing Memphis Depay to rebuild his career.

Rutten, who shares Memphis' agent, Kees Ploegsma, feels the 22-year-old will bounce back at club level - even if it means leaving Manchester United.

"Sometimes, young players, they switch from clubs and then you see they come back," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"There's still big young players who leave the club and in one moment they are back again and they can develop more.

"I believe in the boy."
