Former PSG star Jerome Rothen has had a pop at West Ham signing Patrice Evra.

Evra signed the Hammers last week, but Rothen believes the veteran fullback should be retiring.

He told SFR Sport: "I've talked to other former players and when you stop your career it's often more in the head that you cannot do anymore. You have less desire to go on the field, to train every morning while it had always been your passion ... The problem was not physical but mental.

"But he, Patrice, is the opposite, in the head he still wants it, as if he were 25 years old. He in his mind he still believes he can play at FC Barcelona or Real Madrid."
