Former PSG coach Laurent Blanc is being backed to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Wenger announced on Friday he will be leaving the Gunners at the end of this season and speculation over the identity of his replacement has sparked.

Blanc's former assistant manager, Jean-Louis Gasset, believes his old friend would fit seamlessly into Arsenal.

Now with St Etienne, Gasset stated: "Blanc with Arsenal? Possible.

"Wenger is a lot like Laurent. They have a similar profile. Arsène loves the beautiful game, the good players. They are alike."
