Former Portsmouth winger Nadir Belhadj will not be moving back to the UK after Qatari club Al-Sadd pulled the pin on any potential deal.
The 29-year old Algeria international joined Al-Sadd from Portsmouth last year but was believed to be keen on a move back to Britain with Celtic reportedly leading the race for his services.
Sunderland, QPR, Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Wolves were also showing interest but Al-Sadd feel Belhadj is a key member of their squad and have turned down all offers.
