Former Portsmouth and Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard is on trial with Championship outfit Sheffield United.

The Frenchman played for the Blades reserves last night as Kevin Blackwell looks to bolster his attacking options.

The 26-year old Cameroon-born Pericard has spent almost his entire career in England since beginning with St Etienne in France in 1999 and then moving to Juventus in 2000.

Since then, he has been with Pompey, Plymouth Argyle (loan), Stoke, Southampton (loan) and Millwall (loan) and also enjoyed a loan spell with the Blades in 2005.
