Bolton Wanderers' former Portsmouth pair convinced Sean Davis about a move to the Reebok.
Davis says talks with ex-Fratton Park pals, Matthew Taylor and Andy O'Brien, convinced him it was the right decision to swap the South Coast for the North West.
"They both spoke highly of the manager and the set-up," explained the former Fulham and Spurs star. "It's always nice when there are familiar faces at a new club.
"And I'm sure that will help me to bed-in with the rest of the squad.
"Bolton have got modern facilities and a great stadium.
"Plus I wanted to move to a club where I can play my football and be appreciated."
