Ex-Portsmouth boss Adams in frame for Southampton job

Former Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is a shock contender to be next Southampton manager after Gordon Strachan was ruled out for a return.

Ex-Arsenal captain Adams is among the shortlist of candidates being considered by Saints' new billionaire Swiss owners, says The Sun.

Strachan was spotted at the training ground last week - but he was only receiving treatment for a back complaint.
