Former Palermo sports chief Franco Ceravolo is delighted for Emerson Palmieri over his imminent move to Chelsea.

The Roma fullback has agreed terms with Chelsea and could join today.

Ceravolo told TMW: "I was able to appreciate the player and his family already in Brazil when I was in China. I had glimpsed the potential of Emerson, so I took him to Palermo. And now that he has the chance to go to Chelsea I'm happy for him, really.

"I took him to Italy and I saw in him potential as a great player. For me it is not a surprise. He has arrived where he deserves.

"If he will settle easily at Chelsea? Brazilians by nature easily take confidence. He will settle. Then there is (Antonio) Conte. And London is beautiful, it will not take long."
