Gareth Southgate has been installed as the favourite to succeed Stuart Pearce as England U21 manager.
Sky Bet suggests that the former Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough defender will replace Pearce who has not been offered a new contract after six years in charge of the Young Lions.
Former England international Southgate, who previously worked for the FA as their head of elite development, heads a list consisting of Tottenham great and former England boss Glenn Hoddle, fellow ex-Three Lions manager Steve McClaren and former Portsmouth, Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers boss Michael Appleton.
