Ex-Palace boss Holloway reveals hand in Pulis appointment

Former Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is delighted Tony Pulis has succeeded him.

Holloway has revealed that he played a key role in the appointment of Pulis.

"When I left Crystal Palace last month, I was asked by the chairman to recommend a manager who could keep the club in the Premier League," Holloway wrote in the Sunday Mirror.

"Tony Pulis was the name I gave him.

"I'm not saying Steve Parish wouldn't have given Tony a call anyway, but I am delighted the deal has now been done and I hope that the Eagles can fly to safety.

"Tony is a good mate. He did an incredible job at Stoke, not only getting the Potters promoted but keeping them in the top flight, taking them to their first FA Cup final and bringing European football to the Britannia."
