Ex-Palace boss Burley: Loan move will work wonders for Man Utd's Zaha

Former Crystal Palace boss George Burley feels Wilfried Zaha will prove himself at Manchester United.

But the Scot says a loan move would benefit the winger at this stage in his career.

Burley told the Telegraph: "He's got a fantastic talent. He's got his own charisma. He's got this talent to take players on and this talent that when people tackle him, he bounces off them. The only other player I've seen that in was Maradona. "

Burley said a loan spell could yet lead Zaha to success at Old Trafford. "I felt Gareth Bale needed another year before he went to Tottenham but he went and the first six months, he struggled. And Gareth was more advanced than Wilfried at that period. I think it would do him the world of good for him to go on loan for six months or a year and he'll come back with more confidence, a better player. Look at Andros Townsend, who went to Queens Park Rangers last year and was terrific."
