Barry Bannan is set to commit to Sheffield Wednesday according to reports.

Sky Sports is of the belief that the 26-year-old midfielder, who joined Wednesday from Crystal Palace on a one-year deal in the summer, will pen a long-term contract with the Owls.

Former Aston Villa man Bannan has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal which will soon be confirmed according to Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal.

"I think Barry Bannan will be here with us and I am sure that will be solved soon," he told the Sheffield Star.

"He likes it here with us and we like him."
