Former Notts County boss Steve Cotterill is set to take charge of Portsmouth.
The Daily Mail says Portsmouth , who have debts approaching £140million, will announce Cotterill as their new manager on Thursday provided creditors accept an offer of 20 pence in the pound on the same day.
But the tax authorities, who say they are owed £35m, have indicated they will not back the club's offer contained in a Creditors' Voluntary Arrangement and want the money repaid in full.
