Paul Dalglish has been appointed as an assistant coach on Jeff Cassar's Real Salt Lake coaching staff.
The former Newcastle United, Norwich City, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool defender, and son of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, joins Andy Williams, Daryl Shore and Craig Waibel at Rio Tinto Stadium ahead of the 2014 MLS season.
Cassar, who replaced Jason Kreis at RSL in December, said: "I'm very excited for Andy, Daryl, Paul and Craig to join me as assistants.
"Having such an experienced staff on board will help me in my first year as a head coach, and the unique characteristics that each of them bring to the table will help the team contend for another MLS Cup."
